Board Certified Physician Assistants (PA-C)

TERAH SEXTON, PA-C

Terah is the owner and one of the providers at ZenCare Family Wellness Center. She is a board certified Physician Assistant.

Terah was born and raised in Artesia NM. She graduated from Artesia High School and went on to attend Lubbock Christian University. She transferred to University of North Texas where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Biology. She attended University of St. Francis and graduated in 2010 with a Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She served as her class president in PA school and was awarded the Outstanding Community Service Student Award.

She has been practicing in Artesia for over 12 years. She has worked in family practice, ER, hospital medicine, and general surgery. Terah is member of New Mexico Academy of Physician Assistants and serves on the board of directors as the Region 4 Director. She has also served on the legislative and CME committees. She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Terah states her favorite part of her job is taking care of the members of the community who helped raise her. She loves seeing old teachers and friends as patients and being able to take care of them. Her favorite part of working in medicine is working in collaboration with the patients to achieve better health and the relationships you build with people.

Terah and her husband Chance have 3 children, Brooks, Tripp, and Kadence. They also have 3 dogs, Emma, Mayzie, and Tillie, and 4 cats, Elsa, Anna, Tiny Bitty, and Belle. In her spare time, Terah enjoys camping and fishing, scrapbooking, crafting, and playing games with family and friends. She also loves supporting her kids in their sports and activities.

BIANCA ORTEGA, PA-C

Bianca is one of the providers at ZenCare Family Wellness Center. She is a board certified Physician Assistant. Bianca was raised in Mexico City and Tucson AZ.

She graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She attended Texas Pan American University and graduated in 2011 with a Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She has been practicing in Artesia for over 7 years. Bianca is member of New Mexico Academy of Physician Assistants and American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Bianca says her favorite part of working in medicine is constantly learning new things and new ways to help people. She says she always tries to listen to patients and make them feel better.

Bianca and her husband Tyler have 4 dogs, Audrey, Hooker, JJ, and Ellie and 2 cats, SamCro and Krieger. In her spare time, Bianca enjoys skiing, traveling, spending time with her dogs and family, and crocheting.

ABY JIMENEZ, MA

Aby Jimenez is one of our Medical Assistants. Aby was born in Tucumcari, NM and grew up in Dallas, TX.

She attended Oklahoma State University and ENMU-R and earned her Associates degree. She has been an MA for 8 years and has also worked as a patient care representative in the past.

Aby and her boyfriend Joseph have 3 dogs, Daisy, Hyde, and Roo and 2 cats, Kiki and Salem. Aby enjoys playing fetch with her dogs, camping, spending time with family and friends, and snuggling with her cats.

Aby says one of her most challenging times in medicine was being able to work through and survive the hardships of Covid-19. She enjoys her job because she is able to help the members of her community and make sure they are feeling their best. Her favorite aspect of working in medicine is learning new treatments for different kinds of chronic and acute problems.

ANA GUTIERREZ, MA

Ana is one of our Medical Assistants. Ana was born in Albuquerque, NM and grew up in Artesia, NM.

She graduated from Artesia High School and attended Pima Medical Institute and earned her Medical Assistant certificate. She has been an MA for 6 years. She has earned occupational hearing conservationist certification and her pulmonary function certification.

Ana has 1 daughter, Anarely and 1 dog, Sophie. Ana enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Ana says her favorite part of her job is being part of a great team and meeting people in the community and having a positive impact on their well-being. Ana’s favorite part of working in the medical industry is learning new things every day and making a positive difference in people’s lives.

Keeping Our Office Running Smoothly

VICTORIA AGUIRRE, RECEPTIONIST

Victoria is our front desk receptionist. Victoria was born and raised in Artesia, NM.

She graduated from Artesia High School and attended ENMU-R where she earned her Associates degree. She has been working in the medical field for 19 years. In the past she has worked as a pharmacy technician, business office manager, and care coordinator.

Victoria is married to Inez Aguirre and they have 3 children, J’Lyn, Kino, and Mylz. They also have an English bulldog named Corona. Victoria enjoys spending time with family and friends and attending professional baseball and football games.

Victoria enjoys her job because she likes helping patients from our local community. Her favorite part of medicine is the reward that comes from providing great patient care.

TERRY MAUPIN, OFFICE MANAGER

Terry is our office manager. Terry was born and raised in Artesia, NM. He graduated from Artesia High School and attended Lubbock Christian University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

He previously owned and operated his own retail business. While in business, he was awarded with the Circle of Excellence and the Pinnacle Award Radio Shack Dealer Franchise and Artesia Business of the Year. He has been working in the medical field for over 5 years. He received the Colleagues Choice Award at Artesia General Hospital.

Terry and his wife Donna have 4 grown children & their spouses and 10 grandchildren. His hobbies include playing games with the family and church friends, singing, working in the yard and watching a good movie. He is a lifetime member of the Artesia Lions Club has been awarded Lion of the Year in the past.

After closing his store, Terry was not ready to retire, so sought employment in the healthcare industry. He is thrilled to be working with his daughter, Terah, to bring a much needed health practice to the citizens of Artesia and the surrounding communities. Having worked in retail for 42 years, Terry has always enjoyed serving customers and making friends.

Terry’s favorite part about working in healthcare is knowing that he can be a part of making a difference in someone’s life and that brings him great joy and satisfaction. He says he will always do what is best for our valued patients.
